Announcing: The Art of Risk-Taking Workshop by GFDA
Sometimes you discover something and it makes you think in a radical new way – this happend a few years ago when I came across Good Fucking Design Advice (GFDA). I love their style, their humour and their quotes. If you don’t get a big smile on your face when you’re exploring their website, I’m sorry to say that you’re fucking boring.
Because we love experimenting and taking risks, we’ve asked Brian and Jason of Good Fucking Design Advice to come over and do a session with and for us here in Amsterdam. Of course they’ve said yes, which means we have some fucking exciting news to share with you! The GFDA team are coming to Amsterdam to host an inspiring and explosive workshop session: The Art of Risk-Taking.
We are honoured to host their very first session in the Netherlands… so are your ready for a mind-blowing workshop? Do you dare to join us? This is a very special event with limited places – only 40 bright and curious minds will be able to join this workshop. Stoked already? Read on to know what to expect!
‘AN UNCOMFORTABLE WORKSHOP WITH UNQUESTIONABLE RESULTS’
The value of creativity lies precisely in the unpredictability of its outcomes, and working in the realm of unpredictability means accepting risk. You can talk about risk, you can tweet it; its benefits have been formulated, extrapolated, and professed; but all the book learnin’ in the world can’t replace live hands-on experience. Through a series of provocative, team-based exercises,The Art of Risk-Taking Workshop challenges perceptions, cements bonds, and enables participants to embrace ambiguity, put aside their fears, and let go of their egos.
The workshop is team-oriented with an emphasis on interactivity. Exercises vary length from 10–90 minutes, and each one is curated with clear, demonstrable objectives in mind. Exercises always conclude with a period of group reflection so everyone has an opportunity to wrap their head around the challenges, lessons, and insights; and how to incorporate them into their own personal and professional practice.
Brian Buirge and Jason Bacher: “Our mission is to bring unexpected ideas to life and to teach others how to do the same.”
