Heartcore-Lab at the ADE Hackathon

A few weeks a go Heartcore-Lab was, together with KPN Technium and the Internet of Things (IoT) academy, part of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) Hackathon.

At the ADE Hackathon, developers, designers, entrepreneurs and other creative
minds were asked to think about the challenges that are faced by the dance and festival scene, but also to think about the opportunities that data and technology provide. A group of 100 selected bright minds were invited to develop smart concepts, new apps and inspiration within a challenging timespan of 24 hour.

The reason why Heartcore-Lab is joining the ADE Hackathon every year is simple: we love technology, innovation and creativity. So when those three themes come together, very interesting things may happen.

Tech support
For three years in a row the Tech-team, consisting of developers from KPN Technium, is supporting the participating teams. These techies are challenging
the teams on tech solutions and help them building their prototypes.

The team is also part of the jury where they focus on tech-level and a working prototype.

As we successfully cooperated with the IOT Academy this year, the participating teams were also able to use the KPN LoRa network.

Winner: Team Joker
Their sustainability concept evolved around creating awareness of your personal festival carbon footprint. When purchasing a tree planting fee to compensate your footprint, also a digital tree was created and instantly shown to the visitors at large screens on site. The amount of digital trees showed how people altogether were contributing, ensuring an increase of awareness.
